PACE uses the following committees to maximize community involvement! Alternative Payment Program (APP) This committee is responsible for overseeing the activities of PACE’s Alternative Payment Program. Meets: Monthly. Chairperson: Maria Hurtado Budget & Finance This committee prepares the annual budget, fiscal projections, and prepares recommendations for the Board, while performing such other duties in connection with the finances of PACE as determined by the Board. Chairperson: R. Ann Whitehead Regional Development This committee works to develop strategic plans to develop new chapters in areas where there are no active chapters and help existing chapters to increase membership. Chairperson: Darlene Johnston Conference This committee works closely with the PACE Administrative Office to prepare and administer PACE’s annual Administrator’s and Fall Conferences. Volunteers on the committee will plan every aspect of the conferences, (i.e. design materials, silent auctions, recruit presenters and exhibitors, solicit in-kind support, secure entertainment, manage logistics) and then celebrate by attending the events Chairperson: Contact the PACE Office Legislative This committee works closely with PACE’s lobbyist in Sacramento working towards the best interests of the Early private provider. Volunteers monitor public policies affecting child care and collaborate efforts at a county, state and national level. Meets: Monthly. Chairperson: Linnea Hathaway Membership This committee is responsible for recruiting, retaining and recognizing members. Activities include:annual drive, initiating and implementing programs, encourage information sharing and expertise on topics related to association management and career advancement. Chairperson: Dana Hemberger Nominating This committee is responsible for the annual PACE Election of Officers. Activities include: maintain job descriptions, search for and establish nominees for Officer and Director, and Board Member positions, prepare and propose slate of nominees, insure representation based upon type of association, geographical spread, and participation in PACE activities. Chairperson: Cathy Vaughn PR and Marketing This committee is responsible for spreading the word about PACE to the public - including community schools, businesses, agencies, schools and the media. They create the marketing and branding plan, establish outreach efforts. Requirements: PR and Marketing skills preferred. Department of Social Services Regulatory This committee works closely with the DSS representative, and acts as a liaison to the Department of Social Services and Community Care Licensing. Meets: quarterly. Chairperson: Jim Feldman Retreat and Long-Range Planning This committee is responsible for setting the goals and future direction of PACE. They report to the Board on the progress and status of current goals. The committee also prepares accountability reports for Board meetings and the PACESETTER. Ways and Means This committee has several different targets to approach for both funds and in-kind support, to create a healthy balance of revenue. They coordinate fundraising events, update and implement PACE’s marketing campaign, and grants to establish relationships with potential funders. Their primary goal is to gain a presence within the business community in order to achieve maximize exposure.
