Creating a Packet of Information for Your Elected Official

Calling, e-mailing or faxing your representatives and senators in Congress are the most effective ways for you to make your opinions and positions known. Don't pass up an opportunity to contact your representatives and senators. When writing your Senator or Representative, follow these guidelines:

1. Use your business stationery or letterhead with a local address.

2. Find the applicable letter(s) at the end of each provided position page, then
click on the link to download the letter. You might want to rewrite the
letter in your own style and include personalized information (such as anecdotes, personal case histories, statistics, etc.)

3.Use the correct address format and salutation.

4. Find your member(s) of Congress.

5. Find your Senator(s).
