  2. Dance to Relieve Stress

by PACE in Category: At Your Center/School,Child Behavior/Development,Everyday,Just For Fun,PACE

“Relaxation movements are not the only way to unwind the body.  Dancing does wonders.”  This is the observation of Alice Honig in her book, Little Kids, Big Worries.

“Choose slow skating waltzes and other dancing music for toddlers to relax, twirling dreamily to slow tunes.  Some preschoolers love lively and stomping music.  They jump and leap as they dance to those strong beats.  Watch the children dance.  Tensions flow out of their bodies as they move to the music.”

  3. Weekend Family Adventures

by PACE in Category: Child Behavior/Development,Everyday,For The Adults,Just For Fun,PACE,Uncategorized

A Spring time bicycle ride is a great activity to get out of the house, get exercise and have an adventure with your family.  To ensure a safe and fun adventure with your kids, here are some bicycle safety information and tips:

    • California law requires that all children under the age of 18 wear a bicycle helmet when cycling.
    • Wear bright clothing and avoid riding at dusk or at night.
    • Make sure your child knows the rules of the road before they venture out to more populated roadways. Teach them to “stop, look and listen.”
    • Don’t carry your baby on a bicycle.

Have a great weekend and stay safe!

  5. Muncha! Muncha! Muncha!

by PACE in Category: At Your Center/School,Child Behavior/Development,Everyday,Just For Fun,PACE

Try as he might, Mr. McGreely cannot outwit three clever and hungry rabbits as they feast on his vegetable garden — muncha, muncha, muncha! But there’s always something to be grateful for as both the gardener and the rabbits learn in this funny, alliterative tale.

    Tippy, tippy, tippy, Pat!

That’s the sound three hungry bunnies make when the sun goes down and the moon comes up and Mr. McGreely’s garden smells yum, yum, yummy. While he’s dreaming of his mouth-watering carrots, the bunnies are diving over fences and swimming trenches to get the veggies first!

    Hammer, hammer, hammer, Saw!

That’s the sound Mr. McGreely makes when the sun comes up and the moon goes down and he sees what those twitch-whiskers have done….Nibbled leaves! Empty stalks! Mr. McGreely will build something bigger and better, sure to keep even pesky puff-tails away.

  7. Happy Children. Connected Parents. Musical Community.

by PACE in Category: At Your Center/School,Everyday,For The Adults,Just For Fun

Let’s dance to the rhythmic beats of  Music Together’s 25th Anniversary!

Music Together is an internationally recognized early childhood music and movement program for children from birth through age 7—and the grownups who love them. First offered to the   public in 1987, it pioneered the concept of a research-based, developmentally appropriate early childhood music curriculum that strongly emphasizes and facilitates adult involvement.

Music Together classes are based on the recognition that all children are musical.  All children can learn to sing in tune, keep a beat, and participate with confidence in the music of our culture, provided that their early environment supports such learning.

Interested in “Bringing the Music Home” or to your early care and education center? Interested in hearing some musical notes that will engage children and adults?

Visit Music Together’s to see you can join in on the jubilation of Happy Children, Connected Parents and a Musical Community.
